Joining the roster of Rogue Spirits is the just-released Oregon Single Malt Whiskey, made with Rogue Farms Risk malt grown and floor malted by hand at Rogue’s Barley Farm in Tygh Valley, Oregon. The distillery’s first straight whiskey, Rogue says the spirit features aromas of honey coupled with sweet malted barley and butterscotch flavors studded with citrus and smoke.

From a Rogue press release on the launch:

“The real magic takes place in the Ocean Aging Room where Oregon Single Malt Whiskey slowly ages,” said Rogue Ales President Brett Joyce. “The whiskey breathes in the rich, coastal air of the Pacific Ocean which impart unique flavors along with the oak barrels, and produces a whiskey worth the wait.”

The new whiskey has already won awards in the 2016 American Craft Spirits Association Judging (bronze) and 2016 16th Annual San Fransisco World Spirits Competition (bronze). We’ll look forward to seeing which other honors this delicious-sounding addition to the lineup will nab.

In addition to its extensive beer list, Rogue currently offers the following handcrafted spirits: Hazelnut Spiced Rum and Dark Rum, Gin (Pink and Spruce, both made with 12 ingredients), Dead Guy Whiskey, Single Malt Whiskey, Chipotle Spirit and Single Malt Vodka.
